“We didn't ask for permission. We just made great ketchup.”

Born in a Chicago
We set out to make a killer BBQ sauce here in Chicago but took a hard look at the grocery aisles and saw only three ketchup brands owning the whole shelf.
We realized the real fight was taking on the heavyweights, so we created our own recipe and hired a copacker to get it done.
We decided to take charge and build a bold brand for people who make their own rules and run the table.
78% tomatoes, zero junk
We load our Non GMO recipe heavily with real tomatoes and sweeten it strictly with pure beet sugar instead of cane.
Our lineup hits hard with fierce spicy variations and bold mustards crafted from aged barrel vinegars.
We built these loud and unapologetic flavors for real people who embrace their imperfections and attack every single day.

“If it doesn't earn its place on the label, it doesn't go in the bottle.”
Up against the giants
We launched our fresh bottles into the National Restaurant Show and hustled them right out of a car trunk to fifty Chicago restaurants.
That street hustle landed us our first retail deal at Marianos and fueled a decade of giving back to our local community.
Ten years and zero venture capital later, we are taking this fiercely independent brand global on our exact terms.

“Three giants own the aisle. We came for the fourth bottle.”
On tables across the country
Today 78 Brand ships from coast to coast. Ketchup, spicy ketchup, mild mustard, spicy mustard. Four bottles, each one earning its spot the same way the first one did.
Restaurants pour us into squeeze bottles. Families keep us in the door of the fridge. Pitmasters mix us into rubs. The reviews come in unedited and we publish all of them.
We're still small enough that the founder reads the customer service inbox. That's on purpose. The day we lose that is the day we stop being us.

“Four SKUs. Thousands of kitchens. One bottle that lives on the table.”
What we're cooking next
More restaurants. More chefs. More flavors built in the test kitchen with people who actually cook for a living. We have a few in barrels right now that we are not ready to talk about yet.
Wholesale and food service keep growing. If you run a kitchen, a deli, a sandwich counter, or a stadium, we want to be the bottle on your line.
And we are still answering the same question we asked in 2014. What would ketchup taste like if no one took shortcuts? The bottle on your table is our answer so far.

“Better condiments. Bigger tables. Same recipe, no shortcuts.”

Always giving back.
The 78 truck rolls into Chicago neighborhoods every season, handing groceries and hot meals straight into the hands of families who need them. Every bottle you buy keeps the truck on the road and the boxes full.
